“ We arrived after 7pm to find the place completely full, with a German tour taking up half the tables. We thought we might have to go but the team pulled out a table and a couple of chairs and squeezed us into a corner and promptly set it up, took our drinks order and returned with our refreshments. We didn’t have to wait too long for our food, Mozambique Prawns and King Prawns. They were great. Being last in we were last out, but we still had a chat to the main man as he too was Scottish. Given they went the extra mile to serve us, seems a pretty good place to frequent if you can. There is parking out front and more spaces nearby so handy to get to. ”

“ The oldest restaurant in knysna they say. Amazing entertaining and funny server (Ryan). We had a stunning evening with the servers and met locals there and had some lovely converdations. Amongst that the food was brilliant and well balanced. Very big suggestion if you pass knysna to go there. ”
“ Lovely small restaurant. We were the only ones there on a Monday evening in winter. It seems like it could get crowded in season as there is not a lot of space between tables. The food was absolutely amazing!! My wife had the Fish of the Day, and I had the Fish Duo. Everything was delicious and prepared perfectly. ”

“ 1. Well, in my experience, this is one of the better restaurants in Knysna. 2. The food was truly exceptional from the Pear Blue Cheese salad to the mains of Sole and Anchor Platter, the Apple Crumble, and Don Pedro i cannot find one fault or taste that didn't satisfy. 3. Both wife and husband owners are involved, and Ryan, the waiter, being knowledgeable and polite, made the service great. 4. An overall must visit as you will find i am not swayed by something that is not exceptional. ”
“ The food was amazing!! The decor of the restaurant doesn’t really correlate with the quality of the food. If you enter you get the feeling that “fish & chips” is their star dish (but that might be different for other people). I had prawns as a starter and a chicken pasta for my main dish. I’ve had a lot of prawns in my life, but these were definitely in my top 5! Also the chicken pasta was sublime (even though it’s a seafood restaurant). The staff, both the manager and our waiter, were very customer-friendly. The manager speaks English, Dutch, German and god knows how many languages more.. This makes for a very personal touch. The only downside was the double espresso. It was very watery and the foam was really bitter. Perhaps something was up with the machine. The funny thing is, I was doubting to have the espresso because of going to bed soon after. So you could say it was not meant to be! The total experience was lovely. Our food came accommodated by a lovely, price friendly Chardonnay. Amazing! ”
